Incinerator Technology Imposed on ITF Sunter

The construction of Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) in Sunter, North Jakarta will use incinerator technology or combustion. It was chosen, because it is widely used also in several other countries.

We use incinerator technology. In this world, there are a lot of technology, plasma, gratification and others. But we have to look for a proven technology

Jakarta Cleanliness Dept Head, Isnawa Adji disclosed many of the technologies offered by the companies submitting proposal. But his party did not want to take risks by implementing new technology.

"We use incinerator technology. In this world, there are a lot of technology, plasma, gratification and others. But we have to look for a proven technology," he stated, at City Hall, Friday (12/16).

Finland Involved to Develop ITF in Sunter

Such technology was also discussed by the BPPT. There are at least 250 proposals sent to Jakarta Cleanliness Dept that proposed for ITF development, and then filtered into five companies.

"Of the five companies, one of them is certainly passing through a tight selection. A lot of technology is offered, but we worry because has not been applied in the countries," he expressed.

Thus for ITF development, his party has involved the company engaged in the energy field, namely Fortum from Finland

"This project is for the next 20 years ahead. If it is done randomly, it will be damaged within 2-3 years. We want to do it seriously," he disclosed.
